We Could Have A Meadow
03:18
|
|||
Will you lock yourself indoors
On the days when the wind is high,
For fear of not knowing where you will land,
Or the route you are to take?
The spring is here it seems,
and the colour’s bursting everywhere
It’ll take you by surprise, that unscheduled daffodil
But if we'd made an effort in the fall,
We could have a meadow by now.
I know that you’re afraid and that doubts
They play upon your mind,
But I have never been inside that room so still,
The storm out here is all I know.
The spring is here it seems,
and the colour’s bursting everywhere
It’ll take you by surprise, that unscheduled daffodil
But if we'd made an effort in the fall,
We could have a meadow by now.

The Lost Gardens
04:40
|
|||
We each have a garden, no two are the same,
some will focus on the lines
and neat walls round the sides.
But if you ask me, i’d sooner get stuck in
planting a variety of trees, grasses and flowers.
You can’t judge a gardener
when the weather takes a turn,
So long as they keep the worst weeds at bay,
It’s their choice how they decide to play with it all.
Sometimes things don’t take to root like you hoped they would
Come next year you can try again this is no game theres no win or losing
I have seen those who have given up
Abandon what they can’t perfect and concrete up the lot.
You can’t judge a gardener
when the weather takes a turn,
So long as they keep the worst weeds at bay,
It’s their choice how they decide to play with it all.
I wouldn’t say it’s easy, that it’s easier,
But good things always take hard work and their fair share of failure
Failing makes room for growth
Other living things they understand this, why are we so far behind this.
You can’t judge a gardener
when the weather takes a turn,
So long as they keep the worst weeds at bay,
It’s their choice how they decide to play with it all.

How We Talk
02:36
|
|||
I will find her in the garden
A’mid the flora she is guarding.
We will talk for hours and hours,
Of the various flowers that she grows
With such delight, in reverence she stands,
Shielding with her hands, so full of life.
And they’ve grown tall this year,
Taller than my young frame.
They tower over my head
And I could not name them,
No I could not name one.
For we never talked of how,
We never talked much at all,
We never talked then
But oh how we talk now-
In more ways than one.

Underground
03:18
|
|||
What you can see above the ground,
Is only the half of it.
Dig down, deep down in the soil and
You will find the place where we are joined and
Nothing can come between
No matter what happens on the face of it,
Even when damages are done,
Even when my familiar shape is gone-
Find me underground.
There will be times when I fall short and
Do not warn you of an oncoming storm
Or similar danger ahead.
I will shelter you as best I can,
If you promise me you’ll do the same.
We are stronger stood together,
But it’s our roots that keep us whole.
No matter what happens on the face of it,
Even when damages are done,
Even when my familiar shape is gone-
Find me underground.
